1. Crack Open Your Windows

Fog usually builds up when the temperature inside your car is significantly warmer than the temperature outside.

One way to help prevent your windows from fogging is to crack open windows, even if it’s just a little bit.

This will allow some hotter, more humid air to escape and hopefully keep your windows from fogging over.

2. Turn Off the Air Conditioner or Heater

If you’re using the air conditioner or heater, turn it off. AC or heater removes moisture from the air, so that’s likely why your windows are starting to fog up on the outside.

3. Wiper Fluid is Key

If your windows start to fog up, try turning on your wipers and use them to clear away any condensation. This will give you a clear vision and prevent your windows from fogging again.

4. Use a Defogging Solution

There are two types of defoggers: chemical and electrical.

Chemical defoggers work by creating a barrier between the glass and the water vapor. Electrical defoggers, on the other hand, work by heating the glass.

You can buy a defogger at most auto parts stores. These solutions usually come prepped in a spray bottle and can be found at most auto stores.

Remember to wipe the solution with a clean cloth after using it on your windows.

5. Use Vinegar

You can also use vinegar if you don’t want to spend money on a commercial defogging solution.

Vinegar is a natural antifog agent and can be as effective as store-bought solutions.

Mix water and vinegar in a spray bottle, then mist them onto your windows. Wipe it away with a clean cloth, and voila! Your windows should be fog-free.

6. Use a Dehumidifier

Using a dehumidifier in your car can help keep your windows clear.

Place the dehumidifier on the floor of your car and let it run for a few hours. The dehumidifier will help remove the moisture from the air, preventing your windows from fogging up.
